An Epic Tale by Matt Brockman

Join us at Hide & Horn on Tuesday, April 1st at 6PM for a legendary tale from guest speaker Matt Brockman about a 17-year-old San Antonio boy who set out for work and found himself on an epic cattle drive in 1865!

Matt Brockman was born in 1960 and grew up in North Central Texas. Upon graduating from Tarleton State University, Brockman spent the first seven years of his career in Washington, D.C. working for U.S. Representative Charlie Stenholm before serving as director of legislative affairs at the National Grain and Feed Association.

He returned to Texas in 1991 serving in various roles at the Texas Department of Agriculture under Commissioners Rick Perry and Susan Combs. He became executive vice president for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association in 2001 and remained in that position until 2006 when he joined the staff of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. Other than a two-year stint at Texas Tech University, he has worked there since.  Brockman currently serves as the Stock Show's communications director. 

In his spare time, he enjoys being horseback as well as fly fishing, hiking and shooting photographs in northern New Mexico. Matt lives near Thorp Spring, Texas with his wife Karen.
